Transforming Cities & Lives (Stories from Operation God is Love)

Good morning faith filled friends!

God is so good; He loves the world. Today, I wanted to share with you some positive stories from Operation God is Love (OGL). OGL started out as just prayer ministry in my city. Me and a few other ladies simply started walking through a dark area of the city to pray. We walked and prayed.

On a few occasions we would run into people who were homeless, hungry, and in need. We would stop for them and offer prayer. This evolved from just walking and praying to ministering to the homeless on the street.

Over years of pounding the pavement we have seen God transform the area and many people’s lives. A Spirit filled church moved in with a Dream Center. Some immoral businesses closed. New businesses moved into the neighborhood. The area was renovated. It is still being transformed. We know we were not and are not the only ones who sowed in prayer. I do thank God for seeing answers to our prayers. God is faithful!

What if every believer used their God given authority to see areas transformed? What if we drove through areas and prayed? What if we used the authority of Jesus to see solutions and not problems? What if we pursued being the change we wish to see in the world?

I believe 2.2 billion professing believers can see worldwide revival. Revival moves us beyond going to church to being the church!

You and I can cry out for God to change the world or we can ask God to change the world through us.

Are you willing to release revival instead of cry out for God to send revival? I truly believe we are called to release who we carry. We do not have a little light. We have the Light of the world and He is glorious. Greater is He who is in us than in the entire world!

I would love to hear your dreams with God to see the world transformed! Leave me a comment below.

Empowered to Make a Difference

Don’t worry about the numbers, help one person at a time and always start with the person closest to you,”~Mother Teresa.

God blessed every human being with something to add value to the world. Your smile or kind word can make a difference in the life of another person.

The goal of life is not to pursue being a consumer. We were created by love (God), to be loved, then to love.

Part of the work of Holy Spirit is to reveal to us Jesus. Jesus is perfect love and compassion in action. If we see Jesus, encounter Jesus, we encounter the Father. Jesus went about doing good and destroying the works of the devil. Jesus did more than preach the Gospel, He reached out to those in great need.

Love looks like someone, Jesus.

I love the following verses…

Let each of you esteem and look upon and be concerned for not [merely] his own interests, but also each for the interests of others,~Phil 2:4 (AMPC).

It is quite easy to see the problems. It requires creativity and courage to see the solution. The problems we face today need heavenly solutions. We can read in the online feeds and see it on the news. Yet who will be part of the solution? Who will move beyond being a critic to being a catalyst for change?

We have the wonderful opportunity to be a blessing in the world, in our generation, and leave the world better than before we came.

You and I cannot do everything, we can do something. We can move beyond being spectators to being activists, revivalists, instruments of change, and humanitarians.

We each have a sphere of influence which needs salt and light. We need light in the dark places. We need salt to preserve. We need those truly led by Jesus to be involved in every sphere of influence. Our world needs Christ in us, the hope of glory.

I encourage seeking the heart and face of God for His assignments in the days and years to come. The world needs a church where ALL the members do their part. A body needs every part engaged and mobile to be fully effective. If only my arms work, I will not go very far. I need my legs. If the church is truly a body, then everyone will have some role to play and need to participate in some way.

Speaking of outreach, what is new with Operation God is Love:

This past year one of the ministries I oversee expanded to include missions. We will be taking teams into the Nations to share the Gospel, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, see the deliverance of the oppressed. You may read more about our work at Operation God is Love or join us on Facebook at facebook.com/OperationGodisLove.

I recently sat for a Skype interview with Convergence Ministries out of LA and spoke about God’s vision for helping the poor. You may watch it here: Interview with Convergence Ministry. As stated before, we cannot do everything, we can do something.

Papa God highlight for each of us the ways we can bless the world. Highlight for us our assignments, divine appointments, and divine alignments. Show us who we are in you and how we can be your hands, feet, mouthpiece, and heart in a hurting and lost world!

Jesus is the Solution (Weekend Devotion)

Morning Devotion: The only solution, Jesus.

My spirit has been grieved this week over our world. We have tried protests, policies, judgements, for some Facebook/Social Media rants, division, petitions, etc…yet none of these things deal with the root. They may temporaily deal with fruit, yet they do not remove the root.

The root resides deep inside the soul and spirit. Unless there is an encounter with Jesus in those places, there will continue to be fruit that does not look Jesus.

Striving and self help are not our ultimate friends. We can not will ourselves to be like Jesus nor love like Jesus. It comes straight from the mouth of Jesus, “If you abide (remain, stay connected to) in Me, you will bear much fruit (from John 15:4-5).”

Abiding in Jesus is the key to love, peace, joy, and the ability to have compassion even for those who hurt you, persecute you, or hate you.

Sometimes I have to just drop into the arms of Jesus. “Here I am, I do not know what to do. My heart needs you. I need you.” Jesus responds every single time.

God is good and loves us all. Our world needs Jesus.

  • In a world full of craziness, the solution is Jesus.
  • In a world full of hatred, the solution is Jesus.
  • In a world full of gross selfishness, the solution is Jesus.
  • In a world full of identity crisis, the solution is Jesus.
  • In a world full of deception, the solution is Jesus.
  • In a world full of messes, the solution is Jesus.
  • In a world full of misplaced priorities, the solution is Jesus.
  • In a world full of dishonor/disrespect, the solution is Jesus.
  • In a world full of insecurity, the solution is Jesus.

Yeshua come… ישו באה

So my prayer today is our world encounters Jesus…truly encounters Jesus…not the Jesus painted in the image of mankind (our ideas), the real Jesus seated at the right hand of the Father.

Sometimes chaos is brought to the surface so we can seek God and heal…not leaders, politicians, etc…Jesus. We need God. Apart from God there is no agape love (perfect, sacrificial, unselfish love).

Lord, help us to surrender to your Lordship in every area of our lives. We need you! Our world needs you. Help those of us who claim you to abide in you and help others encounter you. Bring revival at the heart level that brings about transformation of cities and Nations. We need radical change on the heart level. Heal and restore us from the crazy of the world. In Jesus powerful name. Amen.

You are so deeply loved and prayed for too!

Love in Christ,

Erin Lamb
